Thomas & Rebecca in Italyby Thomas and Rebecca on July 9, 2018
1 Corinthians 1:31: So, as the Scriptures say, "Whoever boasts should boast only about the Lord."
Dear prayer partners and friends!
It's time again to let you know what the Lord is doing in Sansepolcro.
The past weeks have been very encouraging and we can only wonder what the Lord has done.
On Wednesdays we always have our German and English courses. The two girls have written their last German exams and so we had our final evening in the pizzeria. They asked a lot about our faith. Please pray for Giulia, she will go to USA for a year and we pray that she will come to a faithful christian family! Megy stays here and dreams of an appearance at X Factor. She's a talented singer.
Our English course was attended by 5-10 people, age between 21-72! We were able to make good contacts. But the special thing was that one day the director of the public library approached us and asked if we were interested in a cultural exchange with Meredith College from North Carolina. In Sansepolcro, there is a ''field office'' of this college based in North Carolina. We agreed and in May we met with Sara, the person in charge of the Italian office. We put together a program. Every Wednesday at 18: 00h we met to get to know something typical in Sansepolcro. The first meeting was with the Sbandieratori, the flag-show. A tradition from back to the Middle Ages. The group gave us a half-hour show in front of the town hall. It was something very special! The 2nd meeting was with Giugliano, he has a historic 'mom and pop shop' in the old town. We learned many things about cheese and salami and the history of Sansepolcro.
The 3rd meeting was a wine and oil tasting in a well known restaurant. All in all a very interesting project.
For us it was a 'door opener' to many residents of Sansepolcro!
We invited the group to see Thomas's photo exhibition and they loved the photos! They even bought some of them.
The photo exhibition has opened doors for us! The Lord is great.
Sara, the director of the Italian branch of the college, immediately contacted us and one morning she asked Rebecca about our faith and would like to know more! Pray for this new contact and that she really wants to know more about our faith. She has is married and they have 3 children!
Thank you, for every encouragement, every prayer. Honor and glory to the Lord!
Now we would like to ask you for special prayer support for the upcoming weeks.
Rebecca started a weekly Bible study with a woman from Sansepolcro
We are in our preparation for the kids camp in the beginning of July. We will have a class of 14 year old teenagers, around 15 this time. We want to teach about the ''I am'' words of Jesus in the gospel of John.
Thank you so much for your prayers.
We love you, Thomas and Rebecca
